This micro-site is a  harm reduction project hosted by IbogaQuest. Our goal is  to help inform and discuss safe kratom use and provide an alternative when that is not enough. At Ibogaquest we respect all power plants and recognize that there is no pharmacological determinism: everyone will have a personal journey with the substance they chose to exercise their human right to freely develop their personality.  However, we must sound the alert regarding an ever higher number of patients and requests for help regarding kratom dependance.

Kratom and Iboga share ancestral use, and both should be used with caution. This is especially true when you extract the active ingredients and start to work with the molecules instead of the plant and consume them away from a historical and cultural context. There is a need to talk about the industrialization of kratom and the extracts and unknown mixes and combinations that keep showing up in new presentations: powders, capsules, edibles, drinks and power shots.

Both boga and Kratom are not native to Mexico or the rest of the Americas. However, they have found refuge in a society that is culturally open to plant medicine. That is why Tepoztlán, guarded by a pyramid and magical mountains, is a perfect place to safely discuss harm reduction regarding both. Not only that, but how ibogaine can help people in their journey to rid themselves of a harmful relationship with kratom.
